The ever popular The Palms in Simpson Bay recently re-opened. This news pleased many, myself included.
The Palms – Groups of folks that share the same love for certain places return when on holiday to those places again and again. Over the years they all pitch up at that place at the same time and throughly enjoy one another’s company. Sometimes even after they have not being in contact since the last time they were there together. This is what happens at The Palms, in Simpson Bay. It is the place to meet up!
Why is The Palms so popular? Well, I am sure others can offer many reasons; mine includes the friendly owners, the great comfort food and the service. After Irma they did some remodeling but still serve the same delicious food and offer the same friendly service.
And so it was the other day I joined a group of friends at The Palms for supper. The wooden bungalow type structure fits snugly into its spot on the road going to the airport in Simpson’s Bay. There is a large inside dining area but mostly on a fine evening everyone sits out on the deck, bistro style.
Lots of laughs and good drinks and yummy food, coupled with seeing friends again who are returning to the island they love so much. Meet up from HH (Happy Hour) (They make a mean mojito) and continue to devour your fav dish for the evening. On a clear evening the rising moon over the hills to the West give an ambiance second to none.
Topping the good feeling is the great friendly service and, on this occasion, a small gift of a wee Carambola tree that Jo seeded herself.
Oh yes, The Palms certainly sits up there as many visitor’s fav place to hang – sort of home away from home!
As you can see we indulged in Drunken Ribs, Ceasar Salad, Creole Curry Shrimp and not shown but devoured the ever popular Carrot Cake! Hurry back ya’ll, we are waiting for your visit.
