#Foodporn Fun
Blow me over with a feather and all that, dinner with a group of OTT, Fun, Funner, Funniest folk around at the most delightful cottage restaurant of all time certainly is something not to be missed.
#Foodporn is a group of SXMLovers who enjoy going to different restaurants together. Going to different restaurants that are not necessarily within their usual comfort, home-away-from-home spots. Restaurants that they have heard about and just have not made their way to until now.
The organizers of this group – two “I livehere” folk – have put together this fabulous idea. Twice a month a venue is picked – one higher end, one lower end – and this time round it was at Le Cottage, a popular higher end restaurant in Grand Case.
As this fun caption dictated we “relaxed” at the cottage and experienced fabulous service, excellent food and belly laughs to boot. One crazy, fun-loving table had the restaurant in stitches with their antics!
The gorgeous people people listened to the menu explanations. The French accent always makes these menu explanations so cool to listen to!
What to choose, what to order? You know everything is certainly going to be delicious.
One couple literally landed and made their way to join in the fun.
The plates that came were outstanding and there was such a wide choice so here are a few of what we enjoyed.
Menu choices
The snail plate. Escargot done in the French style, garlicy and buttery made an excellent starter.
They make a good Ceasar salad and Le Cottage.
I had the cold pumpkin soup with a chili pepper mousse instead of my favourite lobster bisque. This soup is not a choice I would make again. Trying to step out of my comfort zone I ordered something different. Tasty though it was I found it to be fairly bland and it left a residue feeling in my mouth.
I really should have ordered this foie grass. Simply superb. Totally awesome melt in the mouth foie gras.
But for my main I ordered the foie gras lasagne – THIS! possibly the most divine dish on the planet. The pasta encasing a beautiful, moreish, large portion of foie gras swims in a to-die-for foie gras sauce garnished with delightful morels. Dreams are made of this! Seriously!
The lamb rack was excellent as were a number of other delectable plates that went by – why, oh why can’t our bellies cope with consuming more? We will just have to have repeat evenings at Le Cottage.
The desserts are quite out of this world with the most popular being the souffle. This light as air dish with a scoop of caramel ice cream alongside swims in a rather sweet caramel sauce which is poured into the high-rise sugar creation at the table. I shared one – gotta be sensible and order my own next time!
Who could turn down this dessert?
“Not I”, she cried.
If you would like to make reservations for a wonderful evening contact https://www.facebook.com/lecottagesxm/ to book. They have valet parking – if you go by taxi you will literally be dropped/picked up right at the door.
Bon Appetit!
