Four days of cooking, two before Christmas just in time to make cookies and two just before New Year perfect timing to make a little special something to celebrate with. The little chefs were thrilled to make and eat such an array of sweet biscuits from the biscuit baking workshop.
Biscuit Making
The Lil’ Chefs also made typical English fruit mincepies with brandy butter. But sadly we omitted to take photos.
We could not find the fruit mince in the supermarket but the wee chefs made their own brandy infused fruit mince (which was prefered anyway) and the pastry was bought puff pastry.
The special NY’s meal was Shrimp kebabs, deconstructed Ceasar salad, Chicken Wellington’s and Hasselback potatoes. We had one small accident when peeling the potatoes with a potato peeler. One little pair of hands learning to cope with the gadget managed to peel a bit of thumb knuckle – even adults do this! A quick rinse and a plaster and the chef was back at it.

Another session with happy Lil’ Chef Wannabes – Roll on Easter for the next workshops.
Think some of us “big wannabes” might want to try some of those receipes.
When you are here we could arrange an adult workshop!
